The Vienna World Conference on Human Rights that took place in June 1993, has implemented  the landmark declaration which paved way for UN-Human Rights Office.

On the occasion of 30 years anniversary the UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk held a press briefing on Monday the 5th of June at the Vienna International Center(UN-Headquarter).

Events for commemorating the 30th anniversary were taking place in the MuseumQuartier/Vienna.

Thr Federal Ministry for European and International  Affairs of the Republic of Austria in cooperation with the UN Human Rights Office(OHCHR) have organised a high-level human rights symposium  on 6 June 2023 in Vienna,Austria,in which human rights stakeholders from diverse backgrounds discussed current and future challenges and best practices in the promotion and protection of human rights.A synthesis of that discussion would be submitted as Austrian contribution to the 75th anniversary year.
