On 22 July, at the invitation of the United Nations Women\u2019s Guild, the Book Launch of Dr. Harvey Dzodin and the \u201cY. TCM Sister & Leo<\/em>\u201d Children\u2019s Art Exhibition on Animal Protection were successfully held at the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). Senior United Nations officials, representatives of international organizations, and distinguished experts and guests from the fields of education, science and technology, environmental protection, culture, and healthcare attended the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, Beijing Dadi Jiyuan International Education & Technology Development Group Co., Ltd. presented a donation to the United Nations Women\u2019s Guild. The event was personally chaired by Ms. Zhou Ruiqing, President of the United Nations Women\u2019s Guild, who joined participants in discussions on protecting the Earth, animal welfare, education in the age of artificial intelligence, global health, and sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosted by the United Nations Women\u2019s Guild with the support of the HCD Earthcare Culture Association, the event featured the official launch of Dr. Harvey Dzodin\u2019s latest book, Dreaming Dragons or Meddlesome Mandarins. Drawing upon decades of experience in international affairs, journalism, media, and cross-cultural exchange, Dr. Dzodin offers readers a unique global perspective while fostering a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and the importance of dialogue between Eastern and Western civilizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event also featured the \u201cY. TCM Sister & Leo<\/em>\u201d Children\u2019s Art Exhibition on Animal Protection. Centered on the theme of respecting life, protecting animals, respecting nature, and promoting harmony between humanity and nature, the exhibition showcased children\u2019s picture books, calligraphy, and artworks that encouraged compassion for all living beings and called upon the public to work together in protecting our shared planet.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the forum, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including \u201cOpportunities and Challenges for Young People in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,\u201d \u201cPhysical and Mental Well-being Under Extreme Weather Conditions,\u201d and \u201cHow Parents Can Guide Children in the AI Era.\u201d The speakers agreed that, as artificial intelligence continues to develop rapidly, cultivating independent thinking, creativity, social responsibility, and a global outlook among young people has become more important than ever. Participants also emphasized that AI should be understood, used responsibly, and guided wisely so that it serves humanity rather than becoming something upon which humanity becomes overly dependent. The insightful exchanges generated enthusiastic responses from the audience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Harvey Dzodin currently serves as President of the HCD Earthcare Culture Association. He is also a former Legal Advisor to U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former Vice President of ABC Television. In his keynote address, Dr. Dzodin emphasized that the world is facing multiple global challenges, including climate change, the continuing loss of biodiversity, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events. He stressed that environmental protection has become an urgent shared responsibility for all humanity.<\/span><\/p>\n

He further noted that climate change and ecological degradation are no longer distant concerns but immediate realities confronting the world today. Only through strengthened international cooperation, deeper cross-sector collaboration, a steadfast commitment to sustainable development, and greater respect for and protection of nature can humanity build a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vienna-based artist and children\u2019s book author Yuling Zhang also shared her artistic vision. She explained that she has always remained committed to \u201cpainting for the Earth, painting for animal protection, writing for the well-being of children\u2019s hearts, and creating works that promote harmony between humanity and nature.\u201d Through her vibrant and expressive artworks, she hopes to inspire greater public awareness of environmental conservation, animal welfare, and the healthy development of children. Her work echoed the mission of the HCD Earthcare Culture Association – \u201cTo respect nature, protect nature, and build a harmonious home where humanity and nature coexist.\u201d Her exhibition added a strong artistic and humanitarian dimension to the event and received wide appreciation from participants and guests.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than a book launch and children\u2019s art exhibition, the event served as an international platform for cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dialogue. By bringing together literature, art, education, technology, and environmental protection, participants explored the future of human development in the age of artificial intelligence while reinforcing a shared commitment to protecting the Earth, respecting all forms of life, strengthening international cooperation, and advancing sustainable development for future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n
