Washington, USA<\/strong> \u2014 In the heart of global financial diplomacy, just a few blocks from the White House, stands the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund \u2014 an institution whose decisions influence the daily lives of millions of people around the world. And for the fifth consecutive year, a Bulgarian \u2014 Kristalina Georgieva \u2014 leads this global financial giant, a source of national pride and an inspiration for every Bulgarian, no matter where they are in the world.<\/h6>\n
Kristalina Georgieva assumed the role of Managing Director of the IMF in October 2019, at a time marked by crises and challenges, including a global pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and economic shocks. Under her leadership, the Fund has not only maintained its stability but has introduced new financial support mechanisms for vulnerable countries, expanded its programs for sustainable development and digital transformation, and increased its focus on climate-related risks to the global economy.<\/h6>\n

Beim zweiten Weltforum f\u00fcr Innovation im \u00f6ffentlichen Sektor der Weltbank, das Ende Mai 2025 in der US-Hauptstadt stattfand, war Bulgarien durch Prof. Dr. GerganaYordanova prominent vertreten. Die Expertin f\u00fcr Finanzsicherheit, Fulbright-Stipendiatin des US-Au\u00dfenministeriums und Professorin an der George Mason University nahm als Vizepr\u00e4sidentin des Bulgarischen Kongresses der Vereinigten Staaten an dem hochrangigen Forum teil.<\/h6>\n
Die internationale Konferenz brachte f\u00fchrende K\u00f6pfe aus Regierungen, Wissenschaft, Hightech-Branche und Zivilgesellschaft zusammen, um \u00fcber den Einsatz technologischer Innovationen \u2013 insbesondere K\u00fcnstlicher Intelligenz \u2013 in der \u00f6ffentlichen Verwaltung zu beraten. Im Mittelpunkt standen Themen wie Steuerreform, Personalmanagement, E-Justice, Korruptionsbek\u00e4mpfung und die St\u00e4rkung b\u00fcrgerschaftlicher Beteiligung.<\/h6>\n
Organisiert wurde das Forum von der Weltbank in Partnerschaft mit den Regierungen von \u00d6sterreich, der Schweiz, Estland und S\u00fcdkorea sowie renommierten Institutionen wie der Harvard University, dem MIT, der OECD und globalen Technologiekonzernen.<\/h6>\n
F\u00fcr einen sympathischen H\u00f6hepunkt sorgte der zweimonatige Sohn von Prof. Dr. Yordanova, der mit seiner Anwesenheit auf der Konferenz viele Herzen gewann.<\/em><\/strong><\/h6>\n

Washington, D.C., May 31, 2025 \u2013 At the second World Bank Global Forum for Public Sector Innovation held in Washington, D.C. at the end of May 2025, Bulgaria was prominently represented by Prof. Dr. Gergana Yordanova. The financial security expert, U.S. Department of State Fulbright Fellow, and professor at George Mason University participated in the high-level forum in her capacity as Vice President of the Bulgarian Congress of the United States.<\/h6>\n
The international conference brought together leading figures from government, academia, the tech industry, and civil society to discuss the application of technological innovations \u2014 especially artificial intelligence \u2014 in public administration. Core topics included tax reform, human resources management, e-justice, anti-corruption, and enhancing civic participation.<\/h6>\n
The forum was organized by the World Bank in cooperation with the governments of Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, and South Korea, alongside renowned institutions such as Harvard University, MIT, the OECD, and global technology companies.<\/h6>\n
A particularly heartwarming highlight was the attendance of Prof. Dr. Yordanova\u2019s two-month-old son, who charmed participants with his calm presence.<\/em><\/strong><\/h6>\n
